This Spring in the ‘HOOD, 2026
Feels like the Spring season 2026 is finally here to stay.
The neighborhood comes alive with the spring blooms and civic activities planned for Knoxville.
The Knoxville Marathon
April 12, 2026
KPSHA has a slew of decorations for the Knoxville Marathon route in our neighborhood. We are looking for residents who plan to cheer the runners and can help us decorate the neighborhood the day before the Marathon. Every year, Sequoyah Hills has won the award for “Most Welcoming Neighborhood,”….a cash prize that helps replenish our decorating supplies.
If you cannot help to decorate, then be sure to come out and cheer the Knoxville Marathon Runners.
KPSHA ANNUAL MEETING
APRIL 30, 2026
Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church, Barron Hall
Join us for the KPSHA Annual Neighborhood Meeting—an engaging, informative, and efficient gathering designed to keep you connected and involved in the future of our community. We’ll start with a quick look back at everything we accomplished this past year, from enhancing our landscaping and adding beautiful new plantings, to expanding our holiday decorations, supporting beloved traditions like the 4th of July parade and Halloween trick-or-treating loop, and hosting fun events like our Labor Day picnic and Christmas tree lighting with Santa.
Then we’ll share what’s ahead, including plans for more social gatherings and the launch of an exciting new capital project that will have a lasting impact on our neighborhood. We’ll introduce a spring home tour fundraiser—an opportunity to step inside some of our neighborhood’s most beautiful homes—along with updates from our beautification efforts and a brief talk from our city council representative on issues affecting our area.
The meeting will be concise (about 45 minutes), with an optional discussion afterward for those who want to help shape ideas for our next big project, including the potential transformation of our neighborhood’s underutilized park. This is a great chance—especially for newer and younger families—to have a voice, stay informed, and help shape the future of our community.
Volunteer At A KPSHA Event
Want to get more involved in our neighborhood without the monthly commitment of a board position? We’d love your help. Our community thrives because of neighbors who volunteer their time, ideas, and energy to make it a more beautiful, connected, and vibrant place to live. We’re forming committees to support areas like beautification, community development, social events, membership outreach, and special projects… there’s a place for everyone, whether you have a little time or a lot of time to share. If you’re interested, take a quick survey below to et us know what excites you most. It’s a simple way to make a meaningful impact and connect with your neighbors along the way.
Take our survey and we will be in touch.

A New MEMBERSHIP Year Has Arrived
Thank you to all KPSHA residents and supporters who have paid their membership dues for 2026. We’ve moved to a calendar year to collect dues to ease paperwork burdens and to better plan our income and expenses for the year. We encourage membership donations during the first quarter of the year.
We encourage all residents to join and support our efforts to beautify and better connect the fantastic neighborhood in which we live. There is a membership level for all budgets. All contributions are tax deductable as KPSHA is a 501-c registered organization.
Good Neighbor
$50/year
Your Good Neighbor membership supports KPSHA’s overall efforts to serve the neighborhood, such as maintaining the website and printing and mailing postcard reminders. We produce the annual meeting, the Boulevard Christmas decorations and tree lighting, the Knoxville Marathon cheering sections, and other neighborhood events. We also maintain the pet waste stations. If the association ever needs professional advice on an issue related to maintaining the character of the neighborhood, our dues help cover those costs.
Beautification Society
$150/year
By adding $100 to your membership, you enable KPSHA to maintain the shrubbery and flower beds at 13 intersections throughout the neighborhood and on Cherokee Boulevard. The beauty of these areas, like the display of tulips around the Sunhouse Fountain each spring, enhances the appeal of our neighborhood to residents and to visitors such as the people who tour our Dogwood Trail in April.
Preservation Alliance
$250/year
An additional donation helps KPSHA with all the activities described above. It also ensures that we have on hand the resources needed to maintain and improve specific public areas of the neighborhood, especially renovations of Papoose Park, Sunhouse Fountain, and most recently Panther Fountain. This extra donation also allows us to quickly respond to zoning, demolition, and other issues/permits in the neighborhood by seeking expert legal advice so that we understand and can respond to issues affecting our neighborhood.
