LABOR DAY PICNIC-ONE WEEK FROM TODAY
The Kingston Pike Sequoyah Hills Association’s Annual Labor Day Picnic is just one week away—Monday, September 7, 2026!
We hope all neighborhood residents will join us at the Link House baseball fields on Cherokee Boulevard from 5–7 p.m. for an evening of fun, fellowship, and community. It’s a great opportunity to meet new neighbors, reconnect with longtime friends, and celebrate what makes our neighborhood such a special place to live.
In addition to building community spirit, this year’s picnic will feature a variety of fun activities, including:
TRUE BLUE, Bluegrass Band
Food Trucks
Knoxville Police Department Mounted Police and Horses
Face Painting, Balloon Art, and Giant Jenga Games
Best Dessert Competition
Membership Drive
Christmas Frog Ornaments will be available
Design Proposals for the Looney Island/Paddle Board Dock will be on display. Feedback from residents requested.
The Labor Day Picnic is open to all residents, families, and businesses of Sequoyah Hills and the surrounding area. Membership is not required, and everyone is welcome! Donations are gratefully accepted to help support the event. Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs, invite your neighbors, and come ready to enjoy an evening of fun, fellowship, and holiday spirit!
A Friendly Reminder: School Is Back in Session
Schools Are Back In Session
Knox County Schools are back in session, and we ask all residents to please take extra care when driving through our neighborhood.
Traffic cameras are located at schools throughout the county and are operational at the beginning and end of the school day. Please slow down, stay alert, and watch carefully for students and families.
Let’s all do our part to keep our kiddos safe!
See the Sequoyah Park Boat Launch Design Proposal at the Labor Day Picnic
Looney Island/Paddle Board Dock
KPSHA has engaged the East Tennessee Community Design Center to develop a proposed design to improve the function, accessibility, and safety of the existing boat launch at Sequoyah Park, with a particular focus on access for paddlers.
A display table will be available at the Annual Labor Day Picnic where residents can view the proposed design and learn more about the project.
We encourage all residents to stop by, review the proposal, and share your comments and feedback. Your input will be included as part of the official public input process.
